Armand Martel

Since 1995 Armand Martel develops skills in dance around the improvised work partner to develop teaching dance partner for professional dance. His approach is to revisit several areas in the light of the relationship dance. His method of work is a constant back and forth between theory and practice. It draws its research through observation, practice, education and reading books and articles that can carry a new light on the relationship in dance and teaching. Armand is particularly interested in somatic education as a tool for learning and teaching.
In partnership with the Department of Art UQTR, it has been a speaker at the last congress of the ACFAS on the issue of distribution of roles in the dance. In 2004 he created http://tangolab.org, a research laboratory for teaching dance partner. Recently, it has established with Lily Lapierre and Karine Rathle, Fleur d'asphalte a dance and creation studio to facilitate the merger of professional dance and dance partner.
