Marie-Joëlle Hadd is an emerging dancer and choreographer. Her career as a gymnast begins when her mother finds her seated on top of the refrigerator at age three. From then on, she spends most of her time upside down and Viagym, and continues to experiment with gravitational limitations from the various pieces of furniture in their house, much to the despair of her mother. Despite all this flying in the air, Marie-Joelle finds time to deepen her gymnastics abilities through classical ballet, tap-dance, jazz, and funky. She performs in several regional and provincial competitive events to reach the finals of the 1995 Jeux du Quebec. After a severe ankle injury, she puts her gymnastics career on hold and uses her rehabilitation period to learn Shorin Ryu style karate and collect variously colored belts. She then becomes a trainer at the Barani Trampoline Club and, now that her injury is completely healed, gets back into tumbling training. Unsure what to do with her life, she hangs out for a few years in the arts department of the Cegep du Vieux-Montréal, where she finally meets Jean-Pierre Mondor. who will share with her his passion for contemporary dance. She will be part of his dance troupe for two years, and following his lead, complete a B.A. in dance in 2009, in performance and creation.

She took part in the Clash residence 2007/2008, a Compagnie De Brune project in which she worked with four choreographers: Anne Thériault, Normand Marcy, Nicolas Cantin and Frédérik Gravel. She also wore a one-piece orange suit for Emilie Poirier in Les Restants presented at Danses Buissonières. Meanwhile, her cerebral cavity gives birth to several short pieces, which eventually mature into C12H22O11 presented at the Agora de la Danse as part of her training as a choreographer. She later spends some time as an athletic cheetah in Normand Marcy’s Fluidengin, and performs in Emmanuel Jouthe’s Écoute pour voir at the 2009 FTA. Since then, Marie-Joelle has also become a partner at Fleur d’Asphalte creation and dance studio.
